Position Title: Tribe Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Tribe Lead is responsible for driving the strategic direction, leadership, and coordination of multiple squads to deliver measurable business outcomes and enhance customer satisfaction. The role translates Wasl’s strategic vision into actionable squad-level plans, empowers cross-functional teams, and strengthens Agile ways of working across the tribe. By optimizing communication, removing impediments, and promoting collaboration and continuous improvement, the Tribe Lead enables squads to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions aligned with tribe objectives and organizational priorities, including major enterprise platform implementations such as Salesforce and/or super app initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Key Accountabilities:
• Ensure squad activities and priorities are aligned with Wasl’s strategic objectives by translating enterprise vision into actionable tribe and squad-level plans that deliver mission-critical outcomes.
• Empower squad members to make autonomous decisions, take ownership of deliverables, and drive innovation within their defined scope and governance.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration by enabling knowledge sharing, joint problem-solving, and coordination across squads to enhance Agile delivery and reduce silos.
• Support Agile practices by guiding squads in adopting Agile principles, facilitating key ceremonies, and reinforcing best practices for continuous delivery and predictable outcomes.
• Identify, escalate, and remove impediments that hinder squad efficiency and productivity, creating an environment that supports high performance and quality outcomes.
• Act as the liaison between squads and senior leadership by providing transparent progress updates, insights, and reporting on milestones, outcomes, risks, and dependencies.
• Drive continuous improvement by leading retrospectives, implementing learnings, optimizing processes, and encouraging experimentation to elevate squad performance over time.
• Manage risks by identifying uncertainties and delivery bottlenecks, developing mitigation plans, and aligning risk responses with organizational priorities and timelines.
• Establish and monitor performance metrics (KPIs/OKRs) for squad performance, business outcomes, and customer satisfaction, using data to drive accountability and improvements.
• Perform any additional responsibilities associated with this role or work assignment as directed by the Line Manager in line with business needs.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
• Internal: Director – Business Excellence and Transformation, Business Excellence & Transformation team, Transformation Office, Digital/IT stakeholders, Business Unit Leadership, Product Owners, Squad Leads, Cross-functional Squad Members
• External: Consultants, technology/delivery partners, vendors (as required for transformation initiatives, including Salesforce/super app partners)
CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
• Operates in a fast-paced transformation environment, coordinating multiple squads delivering concurrent initiatives and outcomes.
• Makes decisions related to squad prioritization, dependency management, delivery coordination, and impediment removal within agreed governance and strategic parameters.
• Escalates material risks, cross-entity dependencies, and major resourcing or scope decisions to the Director – Business Excellence and Transformation.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Supports planning and tracking of tribe-level initiative delivery within approved resource and budget parameters (where applicable).
• Ensures delivery focus remains on measurable value, efficiency, and outcomes aligned with transformation objectives.
- SELECTION CRITERIA:
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or related field
• 10–15 years of experience in transformation, program/project delivery, or Agile delivery environments
• 5–7 years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and complex delivery portfolios
• Prior experience in implementation of Salesforce or any super app (end-to-end delivery and/or major release leadership)
• Strong working knowledge of Agile principles, delivery governance, and performance measurement (KPIs/OKRs)
• Agile certification (e.g., SAFe, Scrum@Scale, Scrum Master/Agilist) or equivalent
Desirable:
• Master’s Degree (MBA or related discipline)
• Lean Six Sigma and/or Change Management certification
• Experience delivering transformation programs within UAE/GCC context
