Position Title: Senior Buyer

Reports to: Senior Manager – Procurement

2. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing procurement activities related to materials, equipment, and services, ensuring efficient sourcing, supplier management, and contract execution in alignment with organizational objectives. The role focuses on handling moderately complex procurement requirements, leading negotiations, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
The position also contributes to market analysis, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives, while providing guidance to junior procurement staff and supporting operational excellence.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Execute end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order issuance for assigned categories and requirements.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs, clarify specifications, and ensure accurate and complete requirements prior to sourcing.

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, delivery capability, and reliability to ensure optimal procurement outcomes.

Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and service level agreements.

Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent performance, quality delivery, and adherence to contractual obligations.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or service in a timely and effective manner.

Support contract preparation and ensure contracts are executed, tracked, and managed in line with procurement and compliance requirements.

Oversee purchase order processing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely issuance.

Track procurement activities and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed of industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing benchmarks.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process improvements within procurement activities.

Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier data, contracts, purchase orders, and sourcing documentation.

Prepare procurement reports and provide insights on supplier performance, procurement trends, and cost optimization opportunities.

Support audit processes by responding to audit queries and providing required documentation and explanations.

7. CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

Operates under the supervision of the Senior Manager – Procurement within defined procurement policies and procedures.

Responsible for executing procurement decisions within assigned scope and delegated authority.

Provides recommendations on supplier selection, sourcing approaches, and negotiation strategies.

Accountable for timely delivery, compliance, and quality of procurement outcomes.
8. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports procurement spend management through effective sourcing and supplier negotiations.

Contributes to cost optimization and budget adherence within assigned procurement activities.

Supports financial reporting and tracking of procurement activities.
9. SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Experience in sourcing, supplier management, and procurement operations.

Strong negotiation and commercial evaluation skills.

Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing best practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
Desirable:

Professional certifications such as CIPS or equivalent.

Experience in real estate, FM, or service-based procurement environments.

Knowledge of UAE procurement practices and supplier markets.
