Job Description

Title: Senior Portfolio Manager (IT Value Realization & Investment Performance Manager)

Role Purpose

The IT Value Realization & Investment Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring that technology investments deliver measurable business value to the organization.

The role focuses on measuring, monitoring, and communicating the return on investment (ROI) and benefits realized from IT initiatives, including projects, platforms, services, and operational spending.

This position acts as a bridge between technology, finance, and business leadership, translating complex IT outcomes into clear business value insights that support executive decision-making.

The role requires a strong understanding of enterprise IT domains such as applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and data platforms in order to effectively assess the impact and value generated by technology investments.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Investment Value Measurement

• Establish and maintain a value realization framework for IT investments.
• Measure ROI, TCO, and business value generated from IT projects, services, and digital initiatives.
• Track benefits realization across technology transformation programs and operational initiatives.
• Develop value measurement models for initiatives such as digital transformation, automation, infrastructure modernization, and data platforms.

2. Investment Performance Monitoring

• Evaluate the performance of IT investments against expected value and business outcomes.
• Monitor the financial and operational impact of technology initiatives.
• Identify initiatives that underperform in value delivery and recommend corrective actions.

3. Business Value Analysis

• Translate technical achievements into measurable business impact such as efficiency, cost savings, revenue enablement, or service improvement.
• Develop metrics that connect technology capabilities with business outcomes.
• Support leadership in evaluating future technology investment opportunities.

4. Executive Communication & Visualization

• Prepare executive-level dashboards and reports demonstrating value delivered by IT investments.
• Translate complex technical and financial data into clear visual insights for senior leadership.
• Present investment performance and value realization insights to executive committees and leadership teams.

5. Strategic Value Advisory

• Provide insights and recommendations to optimize technology investment decisions.
• Support IT leadership in prioritizing initiatives based on expected value and business impact.
• Contribute to data-driven governance of IT investments.

Required Skills

Business & Financial Skills

• Strong knowledge of ROI analysis, cost-benefit analysis, TCO, and investment evaluation
• Ability to interpret financial and operational performance metrics

Technology Understanding

• Solid understanding of enterprise IT environments, including:
• Applications
• Infrastructure
• Cloud platforms
• Cybersecurity
• Data platforms

Analytical Capability

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate technology performance and business impact

Communication & Presentation

• Excellent ability to simplify complex information for executive audiences
• Strong storytelling and visualization skills for executive presentations

Experience

• 8–12 years of experience in IT governance, portfolio management, technology strategy, or financial analysis.
• Experience measuring ROI and benefits realization from IT investments.
• Experience preparing executive-level dashboards and strategic reports.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Preferred:

• Master’s degree (MBA or Digital Transformation)
• Certifications in COBIT, ITIL, Portfolio Management, or Financial Management
