1. JOB DETAILS:

Position Title: Senior Portfolio Manager -Enterprise Support Functions
Reports to: Head of BRM and Delivery

2. POSITION SUMMARY:

Senior Portfolio Manager  is responsible for leading and enabling the enterprise back-office transformation portfolio, with primary focus on Finance initiatives and oversight across Procurement and HR domains.

The role ensures that digital, process, data, and technology initiatives are strategically aligned, effectively governed, properly prioritized, and delivered with measurable business value. The role acts as a strategic bridge between business and technology teams, supporting portfolio planning, governance, executive reporting, stakeholder alignment, value realization, and execution enablement across enterprise back-office transformation initiatives.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Key Accountabilities

• Define, maintain, and continuously optimize the enterprise back-office portfolio roadmap in line with corporate strategy, operating priorities, and transformation objectives.
• Lead portfolio planning, demand management, and prioritization for Finance initiatives, while ensuring alignment across Procurement and HR transformation priorities.
• Ensure portfolio initiatives are supported by approved business cases, funding models, executive sponsorship, expected benefits, and measurable value realization targets.
• Manage portfolio demand, investment prioritization, initiative sequencing, dependency mapping, and alignment of resources against business priorities.
• Lead strategic Finance transformation initiatives covering ERP, budgeting, financial governance, reporting, automation, analytics, process optimization, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Finance leadership to define future-state operating models, digital capabilities, process improvements, governance requirements, and technology enablement opportunities.
• Ensure Finance initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes, improved controls, enhanced reporting, operational efficiencies, and compliance with governance standards.
• Support and govern key Procurement and HR transformation initiatives in line with enterprise priorities and approved portfolio governance practices.
• Ensure cross-functional integration between Finance, Procurement, and HR initiatives, particularly where processes, systems, data, workflows, approvals, and reporting dependencies overlap.
• Enable consistent governance, prioritization, delivery practices, performance tracking, and decision-making discipline across enterprise back-office domains.
• Support adoption of enterprise digital capabilities, automation, workflow optimization, analytics, self-service tools, and scalable back-office platforms.
• Establish and maintain portfolio governance practices, reporting structures, steering committee materials, decision frameworks, and escalation mechanisms.
• Ensure portfolio activities comply with enterprise governance standards including delegation of authority, risk management, information security, business excellence, architecture, data, and IT policies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, delivery risks, budget utilization, resource constraints, dependencies, milestones, KPI achievement, and business outcome realization.
• Prepare executive-level portfolio dashboards, KPI reports, investment updates, governance papers, and value realization reports for leadership committees.
• Build strong working relationships with Finance, Procurement, HR, Digital, Technology, Risk, Information Security, Business Excellence, Enterprise Architecture, and business leadership teams.
• Drive alignment on initiative objectives, expected outcomes, scope, prioritization, delivery approach, change impact, and decision requirements.
• Lead executive and operational governance forums related to portfolio progress, strategic initiatives, risks, dependencies, and transformation decisions.
• Ensure continuous stakeholder engagement, communication, change alignment, and adoption planning throughout the initiative lifecycle.
• Define business outcomes, KPIs, benefit measures, and value tracking mechanisms for all major transformation initiatives.
• Track and report realized benefits against approved business cases, strategic targets, investment assumptions, and agreed performance measures.
• Support the organization’s transition toward future-ready operating models, process excellence, digital maturity, integrated data, and improved enterprise decision-making.
• Ensure back-office capabilities enable front-office business objectives through integrated processes, accurate data, scalable technology, and strong operational alignment.
• Drive seamless integration between Finance, Procurement, HR, and customer or business-facing functions to improve agility, efficiency, and business growth.
• Identify portfolio risks, delivery constraints, value leakage, adoption issues, or governance gaps, and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
• Maintain portfolio risk registers, dependency registers, investment recommendations, governance documentation, and transformation prioritization materials.
• Foster continuous improvement in portfolio execution, business enablement, governance discipline, and value realization practices.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line manager in line with business needs.

7. CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

• Operates in a strategic enterprise transformation environment, supporting digital, process, data, and technology initiatives across Finance, Procurement, and HR.
• Works within established enterprise governance frameworks, IT policies, architecture standards, information security requirements, risk controls, delegation of authority, procurement processes, and business excellence standards.
• Responsible for shaping, prioritizing, monitoring, and enabling delivery of the enterprise back-office transformation portfolio.
• Makes recommendations on portfolio priorities, funding allocation, initiative sequencing, business case readiness, risk mitigation, governance decisions, and value realization actions.
• Has authority to challenge non-aligned initiatives, identify duplication, recommend consolidation, escalate risks, and require stronger business case or governance evidence before portfolio progression.
• Escalates major delivery risks, budget concerns, dependency conflicts, resource constraints, compliance issues, unresolved stakeholder misalignment, and strategic trade-offs to the Head of BRM and Delivery or relevant governance forums.
• Accountable for ensuring assigned portfolio initiatives are aligned with enterprise priorities, governed effectively, tracked transparently, and focused on measurable business value.


8. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports portfolio investment planning, funding model development, budget monitoring, and business case review for back-office transformation initiatives.
• Tracks budget utilization, investment assumptions, funding dependencies, and financial performance of portfolio initiatives in coordination with Finance, PMO, and delivery teams.
• Contributes to cost optimization by identifying duplication, process inefficiencies, automation opportunities, redundant initiatives, and better resource allocation options.
• Supports value realization by tracking benefits against approved business cases, strategic objectives, and expected operational efficiencies.
• No direct revenue ownership, but contributes to enterprise efficiency, cost control, improved governance, and better investment decision-making.


9. SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in portfolio management, digital transformation, enterprise applications, IT business relationship management, finance transformation, or technology-enabled business change, including 3–5 years in a managerial or senior stakeholder-facing role.
• Strong experience leading or governing transformation portfolios, preferably across Finance, Procurement, HR, ERP, shared services, or enterprise back-office functions.
• Experience in portfolio planning, demand management, prioritization, business case development, governance forums, executive reporting, and value realization tracking.
• Good understanding of Finance processes, ERP platforms, reporting, controls, automation, data, and back-office integration with Procurement and HR.
• Strong knowledge of project and portfolio governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, change alignment, and performance management.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, presentation, problem-solving, planning, and senior stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Digital Transformation, or a related field.
• Certification in PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, MSP, MoP, P3O, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, SAP, or portfolio management.
• Experience in real estate, asset management, master development, hospitality, construction, facilities management, or service-led industries.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA, enterprise architecture, information security, data governance, analytics, automation, or cloud-based enterprise platforms.
• Experience supporting executive steering committees, transformation offices, or enterprise investment governance forums.
