1. JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Quantity Surveyor
Reports to: Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager
Division: Commercial
Department: Projects Commercial


2. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quantity Surveyor supports cost planning, contract administration, and commercial control for assigned construction and development projects. The role is responsible for assisting in cost monitoring, evaluating variations and claims, and ensuring project delivery in line with budget and contractual requirements.

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and assist in cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions.
  • Support financial management across project lifecycles, including budgeting, valuation, and reporting.
  • Review and assess contractor valuations, variations, and claims, and provide recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.
  • Support procurement activities, including evaluation of subcontractor submissions.
  • Monitor project costs and flag potential risks or variances.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and internal commercial policies.

6. CONTEXT, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

  • Hybrid office and project site role; coordination across multiple project stakeholders.
  • Provides analysis and recommendations, with key decisions reviewed by senior team members.

7. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supports tracking and management of project budgets.
  • Contributes to cost control, variation assessments, and final account preparation.

8. SELECTION CRITERIA:

Qualifications and Experience (Essential):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within UAE projects
  • Working knowledge of contract conditions (e.g., FIDIC) and commercial practices

(Desirable):

  • Progress toward professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PMP)
  • Experience with cost management software and ERP systems
