Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, governing, and delivering software development initiatives executed by the in-house development team, with a strong focus on mobile and web platforms. The role supports the delivery of business-critical digital products, internal platforms, customer-facing applications, and integrations across the organization.

This position goes beyond traditional project coordination and carries end-to-end accountability for delivery execution, sprint planning, team productivity, quality assurance, and risk management. The PM works closely with Head of Product Development and Product Team, designer, and QA to ensure initiatives are delivered predictably, efficiently, and in alignment with product strategy and technical standards.

The role ensures initiatives are delivered on time by the software development team, with necessary documentation, covering scope, while meeting quality standards and supporting strategic objectives such as scalability, maintainability, operational efficiency, and enhanced user experience.

1. Main Duties:

A. Project and Delivery Management

• Plan and manage end-to-end delivery of in-house software initiatives across mobile (iOS, Android) and web platforms.
• Develop and maintain detailed delivery plans, sprint schedules, milestones, dependencies, and release timelines.
• Ensure delivery commitments are met in line with agreed scope, timelines, and quality expectations.
• Track and report progress, risks, and issues to senior stakeholders with clarity and transparency.
• Own and govern product and delivery documentation across in-house initiatives, ensuring requirements, designs, APIs, and release artefacts are clearly documented, version-controlled, and maintained as part of sprint delivery and release readiness.

B. Agile Execution & Team Enablement

• Drive Agile / Scrum delivery practices across in-house teams.
• Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives with development team.
• Support the team in capacity planning, workload balancing, and delivery forecasting.
• Remove delivery blockers and ensure the team operates at optimal velocity and focus.

C. Stakeholder & Product Collaboration

• Work closely with Head of Product Development, Product Team, Business Stakeholders, and UX teams to capture and translate business requirements into executable delivery plans.
• Ensure alignment between product roadmap priorities and engineering execution.
• Manage expectations across stakeholders regarding scope, timelines, and trade-offs.

D. Quality, Risk & Dependency Management

• Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, and QA processes.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to:
  • Delivery timelines
  • Resource constraints
  • Technical dependencies
  • Quality and rework
• Ensure appropriate testing coverage, UAT readiness, and release stability.

E. Architecture & Technical Alignment

• Work closely with Head of Product and technical leads to:
• Ensure alignment with target architecture
• Prevent technical debt accumulation
• Support development of scalable and maintainable solutions
• Ensure design and implementation decisions are documented and reviewed where required.

F. Continuous Improvement & Ways of Working

• Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, tooling, and processes.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and ownership within the in-house team.
• Support adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation where applicable.

2. Ancillary Duties:

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

3. Quality Responsibilities:

Aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values. Will be responsible to apply the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.

4.  IT Security Awareness:

1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
