JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and Scope of Position:

(Job Summary)

The Multi-Skilled Helper, under the supervision of the Lake Management Specialist performs routine manual labour involved in lake maintenance and on course water features.

1. Main Duties:

  (Job Related Duties)  

• Routinely inspects lakes for debris and removes.
• Operates hand machinery and equipment during periods of preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Adhere to DG health & safety practices. 
• Helps in project work and landscaping.
• Support may be asked to operate light equipment and hand held tools.
• Attend departmental briefings and regular communication meetings
• Perform any duties as assigned and/or required by immediate supervisor or management.
• Performs various manual labor tasks requiring some specialized skills to assist in the work of skilled co-workers for the lakes and streams maintenance activities.
• Performs shore sand removal; debris clean up by manual and using various tools and equipment; dig and back-fill excavations, pruning the reeds and shrubs around the lakes, collecting and removing dead fish and algal wastes etc.
• Loads and unloads the pick-up; unpacks and stores supplies and equipment back in stockrooms, storerooms or warehouses; and takes proper care of using the material, supplies and equipment.
• Performs related duties such as sharpening tools, installing, repairing and painting; assisting in erecting and dismantling works; moving tanks and equipment on site; sweeping, collecting and removing rubbish; and opening clogged basket strainers and cleaning of rocks for clear stream flows.
• Based on assignment, may perform various manual labor tasks in connection with fish transfer and netting activities.
• Based on assignment, may operate boats in connection with assigned activities as required.
• Based on assignment, may patrol the full lakes facilities during working hours to respond on urgent issue in water bodies and to report serious impacts of changes in water colors.

• Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to the duty In Charge.
• Always follow safety rules and regulations at work and ensure the general cleanliness of the work site and adjacent golf grounds.

2. Ancillary Duties:

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

Represents the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

3.  Quality Responsibilities:

Aware of Dubai Golf Mission, Vision and Values. Will be responsible to adopt the 4 Service Steps throughout serving internal and external customers.

4.  IT Security Awareness:

1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
