Purpose and Scope of Position:

(Job Summary)

The Foreman/Field Assistant oversees the maintenance of Lakes and water features on the golf courses.

1. Main Duties:

  (Job Related Duties)  

• Instructs Grounds Assistants in routine maintenance of Lakes and Water features
• Applies pesticides and chemicals to control algal blooms, noxious odours, noxious plant growth around lakes and water features.
• Continuously scout Lakes and water features for debris, pests, algal growth and weed issues and report findings to the Agronomy Management.
• Taking water and soil samples with clear data recording, segregation and sampling with hand held specialist equipment.
• Supervises a small labour force for special projects.
• Attend departmental briefings and regular communication meetings.
• Enforces safe working conditions with all job assignments and is responsible for instructing staff on proper equipment use and work methods.
• Monitors lakes and water features for equipment failure and liaises directly with Asset Management Team.
• Perform any duties as assigned and/or required by Lakes Management Specialist.
• Daily maintains the Lakes Water Level and insect the lakes network and operate the pumps, aerators, fountains and waterfalls ect. As per the set timings
• Supervising the Lakes Maintenance Teams to follow and maintain the preventative maintenance program.
• Supervising and coordinating the activities of team workers engaged in cleaning and waste disposal.
• As assigned by the Environmental Specialist to participate in the lab analysis, spot testing and maintaining the daily log sheets for the assigned lakes.
• Inspection and repairing of mixing tanks, pumps, equipment and other field equipment and related tools.
• Oversee and participate in pesticide spraying, lake dosing and waste disposal as per approved treatment plan.
• Maintains tools, equipment in the store and at all site work areas around the lakes in a clean and orderly manner; ensures that employees observe all deep-water safety rules and regulations while performing activities on site.
• Inspects and instructs the Lakes Teams for the proper use of resources and timings to accomplish the assigned tasks.
• Assigns urgent nature site tasks (equipment breakdown, floating debris, dead fish, scum, algal blooms, odors etc.) to the technicians and workers and prepare work completion reports to ensure that the task is completed in accordance with specifications and instructions by the Environmental Specialist.
• Daily calibration of required testing devices and recoding the spot water testing results in the loggers as per the assigned lakes monitoring schedule for the recordkeeping of existing condition of each lake.
• Assisting the Environmental Specialist to prepares purchase requisitions to obtain materials and supplies.
• Initiates or recommends personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.
• Preparing the time and attendance sheets for monthly reports.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Team Lead.

2. Ancillary Duties:

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

Represents the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

3.  Quality Responsibilities:

4. IT Security Awareness:

1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
