Purpose:

The Food & Beverage Manager – Events & Banquets is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously enhancing all banqueting, events, and large-scale F&B operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences, strong commercial performance, and seamless event execution.

The role acts as a key driver of Dubai Golf’s events business, ensuring the successful planning and delivery of corporate events, weddings, member activations, and large-scale functions while maximising revenue, operational efficiency, and brand positioning.

 

Scope of Position:

  • Leadership & Strategic Direction:
    Sets clear operational and commercial direction for all Events & Banquets operations in line with Dubai Golf’s overall strategy and positioning as a premium events destination. Leads, develops, and inspires Banquets Managers and events teams to deliver high-quality, high-volume operations while maintaining consistency and attention to detail. Establishes clear KPIs, revenue targets, and service standards, ensuring alignment across all event spaces and outlets. Drives a strong performance culture through regular reviews, coaching, and accountability.
  • Service Excellence & Guest Experience:
    Leads the delivery of exceptional guest experiences across all events, ensuring every function is executed to the highest standard from pre-planning through to post-event follow-up. Ensures consistency in service delivery across weddings, corporate events, member activations, and large-scale functions. Maintains strong floor presence during key events, actively managing service flow, guest engagement, and service recovery. Continuously reviews guest feedback, satisfaction scores, and event outcomes to identify improvements and elevate the overall experience.
  • Operational & Culinary Collaboration:
    Works closely with the Culinary and Events Sales teams to develop event menus, packages, and bespoke offerings tailored to client needs and market trends. Ensures seamless coordination between kitchen, service, and events teams to deliver consistent food quality, timing, and presentation. Supports menu tastings, client consultations, and event planning meetings. Drives innovation in event concepts, themes, and activations to enhance guest experience and differentiate Dubai Golf’s events offering.
  • Commercial Performance & Financial Control:
    Drives revenue growth across events, banquets, and group bookings while maintaining strong control over costs and profitability. Oversees budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to events operations. Monitors key financial metrics including revenue per event, cost of sales, labour costs, and profitability margins. Identifies opportunities to increase average spend through upselling, package enhancements, and strategic pricing. Ensures efficient use of resources, inventory, and equipment to minimise waste and maximise return.
  • Market Awareness & Brand Positioning:
    Continuously monitors market trends, competitor activity, and client expectations within the events and banqueting space. Ensures Dubai Golf remains competitive and relevant by adapting offerings, pricing, and concepts accordingly. Works closely with Marketing and Sales teams to position Dubai Golf as a leading events destination. Represents the brand during client interactions, tastings, site visits, and industry engagements, ensuring a strong and consistent brand image.
  • On-Course & Multi-Outlet Oversight:
    Ensures all event-related operations across multiple venues and spaces are aligned with brand standards and operational expectations. Oversees the execution of events across restaurants, outdoor spaces, golf course locations, and temporary setups. Ensures each venue is fully prepared in terms of staffing, equipment, setup, and service flow. Manages simultaneous events across different locations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across all touchpoints.
  • People Development & Culture:
    Leads the recruitment, onboarding, and development of high-performing banquets and events teams. Builds a strong, flexible workforce capable of delivering large-scale events and adapting to changing business demands. Identifies training needs and implements structured development plans focused on service standards, event execution, and leadership skills. Fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while recognising and developing top talent.
  • Compliance & Operational Efficiency:
    Ensures all events and banqueting operations are fully compliant with hygiene, health & safety, HACCP, licensing, and company policies. Implements and maintains SOPs, checklists, and operational frameworks specific to events execution. Ensures audit readiness and adherence to internal and external standards. Continuously reviews and improves operational processes, leveraging systems and tools to enhance planning, communication, and execution efficiency.

Leadership & Strategic Direction

  • Define, communicate, and implement the Events & Banquets strategy in line with Dubai Golf’s overall commercial and operational objective.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Banquets Managers and events leadership teams to ensure strong performance, accountability, and consistency
  • Translate revenue targets and business goals into clear operational plans, KPIs, and action steps across all event operations
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, job chats, and follow-ups to ensure alignment and continuous improvement
  • Drive a strong leadership culture focused on ownership, accountability, and high standards across all events
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Culinary, Membership, Finance, HR, and Golf Operations to ensure alignment and seamless execution

Service Excellence & Guest Experience

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of events from initial planning through to execution and post-event review
  • Ensure all events including weddings, corporate functions, member events, and tournaments are delivered to the highest standard
  • Maintain a strong floor presence during key events, actively managing service flow, guest engagement, and team performance
  • Ensure consistency in service standards, setup, presentation, and execution across all event types and venues
  • Manage VIP events and high-profile functions, ensuring personalised service and attention to detail
  • Lead service recovery, handle guest complaints, and ensure timely and professional resolution
  • Review post-event feedback and performance to identify opportunities for improvement

Operational & Culinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Culinary team on event menus, tastings, and bespoke client requirements
  • Ensure alignment between kitchen and service teams to deliver consistent food quality, timing, and presentation
  • Participate in client meetings, tastings, and planning sessions to ensure expectations are clearly understood and executed
  • Support the development of event concepts, themes, and activations in line with client briefs and market trends
  • Ensure all operational elements including setup, service flow, staffing, and timing are planned and executed efficiently

Commercial Performance & Financial Management

  • Prepare, manage, and control budgets specific to events and banqueting operations
  • Monitor financial performance including revenue per event, labour costs, cost of sales, and profitability margins
  • Implement pricing strategies, upselling initiatives, and revenue optimisation programs to increase average spend
  • Analyse financial reports and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within events operations
  • Oversee inventory control, purchasing, and resource planning to minimise waste and maximise efficiency

Market Positioning, PR & Group Business

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, partners, event planners, and key stakeholders.
  • Support group bookings, private events, and high-profile functions in collaboration with Events and Sales teams.
  • Represent Dubai Golf’s F&B brands in public relations activities, media engagements, and community initiatives.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and consumer preferences to maintain relevance and competitiveness.

 

On-Course & Multi-Outlet Operations

  • Oversee all events and banqueting operations across multiple venues, including restaurants, outdoor spaces, and golf course locations
  • Ensure all event setups, staffing, equipment, and service delivery meet brand standards
  • Manage simultaneous events across different venues, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the guest journey across all event touchpoints

People Development & Staffing

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention strategies for Food & Beverage service teams.
  • Identify training needs and implement structured learning and development plans in partnership with HR and Training teams.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, job chats, and development reviews.
  • Recognise and reward high-performing colleagues while addressing performance gaps constructively.

 

Operational Efficiency & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain SOPs, checklists, and operational systems specific to events and banqueting operations
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, health & safety, hygiene, licensing, and company policies
  • Oversee audit readiness, inspections, and risk management for events
  • Drive process improvements and use of systems to enhance planning, communication, and execution efficiency

 

2.Ancillary Duties:

 

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

 

Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental) and Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

4.  IT Security Awareness:

  1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
  2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
  3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
  4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

SUPPORTIVE SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.

Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for creating reports, presentations, and managing departmental documentation.

Proven experience in a senior F&B management role within a luxury hospitality environment.

Competence in using digital training tools and e-learning platforms to deliver staff training and development programs.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.

Customer Relationship Management

Excellent financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue management.

Familiarity with financial management software for budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to support decision-making.

Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a focus on guest service and operational excellence.
