Purpose:

To deliver exceptional beverage service by preparing, presenting, and serving drinks to Dubai Golf standards. The Bartender ensures the bar is fully operational, guest-ready, and financially efficient while contributing to an elevated dining and social experience through product knowledge, guest engagement, and professional service.

Scope of Position:

• Bar Operations & Beverage Production
  Responsible for beverage preparation, recipe execution, bar setup, mise-en-place, and ensuring product consistency, efficiency, sanitation, and readiness during service.
• Guest Interaction & Experience Enhancement
  Engage guests professionally, understand preferences, provide beverage recommendations, address concerns, and contribute to enjoyable and memorable bar experiences.
• Sales, Revenue Maximisation & Promotions
  Support outlet profitability through suggestive selling, promoting specials, upselling premium brands, and staying informed about beverage features and events.
• POS, Cashiering, Inventory & Waste Control
  Handle transactions accurately, maintain spill logs, assist with requisitions and stock rotation, and follow Dubai Golf financial and cash-handling procedures.
• Team Collaboration, Communication & Cross-Support
  Work cohesively with colleagues, support other outlets or events when required, and maintain consistent communication to ensure smooth operations.

Main Duties:

(Job Related Duties)

1. Bar Operations & Beverage Production

• Perform bar opening and closing procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
• Prepare beverages according to recipes, portion controls, and Dubai Golf standards.
• Maintain bar mise-en-place, ensuring products, tools, and garnishes are stocked and readily available.
• Keep the bar organised, hygienic, and guest-ready at all times, adhering to HACCP standards.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and monitor guest consumption levels.
• Maintain accurate spill logs and minimise waste.

2. Guest Interaction & Experience Enhancement

• Greet guests warmly, acknowledging them by name when possible.
• Build rapport with guests to enhance engagement and encourage return visits.
• Take and deliver beverage orders accurately while anticipating guest needs.
• Address guest feedback or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Dubai Golf brand standards.

3. Sales, Revenue Maximisation & Promotions

• Actively upsell beverages, signature cocktails, and food pairings.
• Promote seasonal beverages, new launches, and special offers.
• Demonstrate full product knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic offerings.
• Identify guest preferences to recommend premium options.
• Support outlet initiatives aimed at increasing average check value.

4. POS, Cashiering, Inventory & Waste Control

• Operate the POS system accurately for orders and payments.
• Follow Dubai Golf cashiering, cash handling, and control procedures.
• Assist with weekly stock counts, stock requisitions, and storage management.
• Reduce wastage through correct preparation and inventory usage.
• Report discrepancies, shortages, and damaged items immediately.

5. Team Collaboration, Communication & Cross-Support

• Attend daily briefings and communicate menu changes or promotions.
• Support other service colleagues during peak business periods.
• Assist other outlets and events when scheduled or required.
• Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and managers.
• Participate in required learning programs, including safety and beverage training.

2. Ancillary Duties:

In line with the Club’s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.

Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee, or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.

3. Quality Responsibilities:

4.  IT Security Awareness:

1. Read, Understand, and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl DG.
2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable.
3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the wasl IT Department.
4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
